AGARTALA, Nov 15 (TIWN): Tripura Govt has taken a new step to upgrade the hostel living quality under the scheme of ‘Mothers-on-Campus’.
As per the new scheme two mothers (rotation-wise) will stay in hostels weekly and if urgent any mother can take leave early.
Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath said that it will keep the things on track as the mothers will fill up a format where they will share their experience while leaving the hostel about food quality, cleanliness and other problems and good experiences.
Minister said that right now under Govt, so far 204 hostels are existing with the strength of 9,935 students.
In girl hostels mothers’ staying will not be a problem but in boy hostels from Class-6 onwards if mothers stay then separate rooms will be arranged for them and if not, the scheme will be kept pending until the arrangement is done. Moreover, foods will be free for the mothers who will be staying, said the Minister.
Ratan Lal Nath also said, the decision was taken observing that a mother's presence always helpful for the student’s overall development and communication between students and their mothers regarding studies and hostels should be strengthened.
