AGARTALA, NOV 14 (TIWN): On a shocking note, a person's body was recovered from the roadside forest area near by his home on Sunday. The incident took place at Drona Charya Para of Mohini Nagar ADC Village under Hrishyamukh block. It is alleged that his own son murdered him and left his body in the forest on yesterday mid-night.

The accused son is identified as Padma Tripura. According to the neighbors and the wife of Padma Tripura, the accused killed his own father Monoram Tripura in an intoxicated situation followed by a family quarrel. After noticing his body on Sunday morning, the locals immediately informed police. Police rushed to the place and recovered his body. Police also arrested the accused son.

The Belonia Police, TSR forces led by  Sub-Divisional Police Officer Soumya Debbarma and Belonia Police Station OC Smriti Kant Vardhan rushed to the spot after getting the news. The forensic team was then informed. The murder of a father by the hands of his own son has caused a stir in the area. 

According to news sources, son Padma Tripura and father Manaram Tripura were both drunk, arguing over land and property before the incident occurred. As a result of this altercation, son Padma Tripura picked up a stick from the yard and hit his father on the head. After being hit Manaram Tripura fell to the ground. Seeing the situation his son Padma Tripura picked up his rickshaw and dropped his body in the forest on the side of the road one kilometer away from his house. The incident took place in front of Padma Tripura's wife and her son. The two eye witnesses gave details about the incident to police. 

An FIR has been lodged in Belonia police station on this matter. SDPO, Belonia Soumya Debbarma said that investigation procedure has already been kicked off and the accused will be presented before court soon.
