AGARTALA, Nov 13 (TIWN): Trinamool Congress (TMC) has expressed shocks over the ongoing massive violence in Tripura under Biplab Deb even after Supreme Court of India had warned the Govt and asked the Home Secretary and DGP to write a joint affidavit with details reports of violence with direction to ensure "free and fair" poll. Since the Supreme Court’s verdict in the last 48 hours 9 attacks took place on TMC members, candidates and so far 4 FIRs have been lodged and more 4 FIRs will be lodged. Talking to Agartala media, Rajib Banerjee said that these matters will be taken to the Election Commission and also the Supreme Court. The press conference was held after TMC leaders met Shekhar Debbarma in GB hospital who was attacked yesterday night brutally over a flag-festoon issue when BJP workers were allegedly damaging TMC flags.
Reacting over Shekhar Debbarma’s eye, Rajib Banerjee said, “I wish his recovery soon but his eye condition is critical. He was brutally attacked.....”
“Such incidents prove that BJP’s ending days have been started. This party and its Govt are so afraid about public mandates which are visible. BJP has failed to pay minimum respect to the Supreme Court of India. BJP just has shown a thumbs-down to the 11th November’s Supreme Court’s order”, added Banerjee.
“We are not going to leave the hooligans. Actions will be taken democratically against each. I appeal to the people to come on road in protest. Let us defeat them on 25th November”, said Rajib Banerjee.
