AGARTALA, Nov 12 (TIWN): Reacting over the Supreme Court’s verdict in TMC filed petition where the Court has directed the Tripura Govt to ensure ‘free and fair’ poll along with directing the Home Secretary and DGP to submit joint affidavit over violence report, CPI-M State Secretary Jitendra Choudhury has said that the judgment is the reflection of no law and order is existing in the state.

“Tripura has no rule of law, no constitutional values maintained by the Govt and its party and in the last 43 months massive tortures were done upon the common men. Naturally, such a judgement will please any democracy lovers and the people who respect the constitution”, said Jitendra Choudhury.

He further slammed BJP for organizing violence and said, all the incidents in Udaipur, Panisagar are true and behind those incidents BJP and BJP backed organizations are responsible.

Choudhury further said, "BJP Govt's two ears are cut now. The first ear was cut in High Court and now the second one is in the Supreme Court...................State Election Commission should take a lesson now".

The Supreme Court's order passed on November 12, 2021 says, "We expect that necessary arrangements will be made by the Government & the DGP along with law enforcement machinery of the state".

"We are of the view that since the election process has commenced, it is the responsibility of the respondents to ensure that no political party is prevented from pursuing its rights in accordance with law for political campaigning in a peaceful manner", the order stated.

“As regards the plea for individual security, the concerned Superintendents of Police who are impleaded as respondents shall take a decision having regard to the threat perception with reference to each case and area and take necessary action for the maintenance and provision of security, as required”, written in the Court order.
