AGARTALA, Nov 11 (TIWN): Miscreants in groups on 5-6 bikes chased Sumit Biswas, son of Gopal Biswas, resident adjacent to Akhand Mandali in Bilonia town in broad daylight and dragged him to the nearby forest from the bike. The incident occurred under PR Bari PS while he was on his way to Rajnagar, Barpathari from his home on Wednesday afternoon around 3:30 Pm.

Robbers with threat to kill him had looted Rs 3.5 lakhs in cash from Sumit and also beaten him up, in shocking state he informed the matter to his friends and family immediately.

However, the armed miscreants managed to escape from the scene before the police had arrived. The victim Sumit and eyewitnesses in the area could not identify anyone among the miscreants as they were covering their faces with masks.

The victim said it was pre-planned attack and the miscreants followed him.

Such incidents in broad daylight raising questions on the safety of common public lives.
