KAILASHAHAR, Nov 8 (TIWN): Allegation against Kailashahar Women Police Station OC for harassing a woman in lockup.
Allegation raised, instead of arresting the actual culprit police arrested another woman at night 11 pm and kept her in lockup.
Police have no authority to arrest a woman in late night and that is without any arrest warrant from court.
The incident took place at Sorojini village of Kailashahar where maximum residents are tea garden workers.
In protest locals have gheraoed the Kailashahar PS.
The incident happened after an allegation raised over extra marital affair allegation but in the entire incident no man was arrested.
But the main question was raised whether police can arrest anyone with such allegations as per the constitution ? How could police arrest a woman at late night without arrest warrant from Court ?
