AGARTALA, Nov 9 (TIWN): In Chandrapur Tata Kalibari case convicted 7 persons were acquitted by Tripura High Court. The judgement was given by Justice Arindam Lodh.
Tata Kali Bari convicted seven persons who were involved in Soma Majumder’s assault case appealed at High Court. After hearing, Justice has given judgement today that ‘Prosecution has miserably been failed to prove the case to establish the case against the accused persons’ and the High Court acquitted all the accused persons.
Reportedly, on 6th Oct 2014, a woman named Soma Majumder was brutally beaten up and assaulted seriously in broad daylight by tying her in a Pillar by local women and men. On the same date the victim woman filed case against 20 accused persons at East Agartala PS. After Police investigation, charge sheet was filed against the 20 accused persons. Later case was filed in Additional Session Judge under West Tripura Board but after proper investigation the board released 13 persons and 7 convicted persons were sent to imprisonment under various sections for their involvement in Soma Majumder’s assault case. The seven people have been identified as Sushil Majumder, Dipankar Majumder, Partha Majumder, Debabrata Majumder, Sima Majumder, Suniti Majumder and Shilpi Majumder. Today all were acquitted by the Court.
