Agartala, Dec 26 (TIWN): All India general secretary of CPI (M)- Prakash Karat and Politburo member Brinda Karat are likely to arrive in Tripura to attend a open rally at Vivekananda Stadium on February 25, next as part of 21st CPI-M state level conference, said a party source today.
Besides, to grace the dais in the open rally, CPI-M secretary of West Bengal- Biman Bose and the Assam unit secretary would be invited, he said.
While the CPI-M ruled state government has been facing a tough time pertaining to corruption, atrocities on woman and many other issues, the CPI (M) state committee decided to hold the open rally with national level leaders.
According to the part source, more than 580 delegates are likely to attend the state level conference. The party has already been staged conferences of 6000 branch committees, 244 local committees and 10 divisional committees so far. For remaining 12 divisional committees and district level, conferences would be finished by February, next, source added.
The three-day CPI-M state level conference is slated to be started on February 25, next and it would be continued till February 27. The Chief Minister of Tripura- Manik Sarkar would also address the rally.
In view of party’s downfall in two states- West Bengal and Kerala, this state level conference would inject additional energy to the CPI-M leaders, said source.
