AGARTALA, Nov 8 (TIWN): Tripura former Chief Minister Manik Sarkar on the occasion of November Revolution day observation had said that when BJP won in 2018 there was no need for BJP to apply poll-rigging. Sarkar said, such unnecessary poll rigging added public hatred against the Govt and reason behind BJP has lost all popularity. He said that in his 55 years of political career, he has seen only BJP Tripura as the only party which has lost its public support within such a short period of time. Addressing at Agartala Town Hall Manik Sarkar said, “I have observed in a few videos on social media that people are telling Left candidates that they do not have to go to their home but the vote will casted for the Left. They are also openly saying, no vote for BJP. This has feared the BJP Govt here. Truly, only within a few years such a loss of popularity is rare but it happened with Tripura BJP”.

‘BJP’s Poll-Rigging strategy applied at the very beginning of its Governance was Unnecessary and a Blunder’, Says Manik Sarkar

“BJP Govt did not have any intention to conduct the vote but out of fear of legal issues, the poll was announced amid heavy violence is going on in the state but a free and fair poll can not be conducted. In the first Panchayat poll violence, rigging were unnecessary and if they did not do it, then BJP still could have some public support but now by torturing people, snatching their voting rights, public sympathy for BJP has fully gone”, added Sarkar.
