AGARTALA, Nov 5 (TIWN): Amid statewide attacks on the opposition, brutal attacks on the candidates have been overlooked by the State Election Commission and Police. Today Forward Bloc candidate Soma Ghosh Deb has withdrawn her nomination paper and more pressures are going on against candidates across Tripura. Even though the candidate who became sick due to continuous harassment of BJP did not mention about BJP led attacks but Left wing sources have confirmed massive torture harassment on her and her family since nomination submission. Reacting over the incident Jitendra Choudhury said that Agartala is the capital city and here also such incidents are going on and the role of police authority and State Election Commission just hopeless. He further said, "Police administration behaves like slaves of BJP. Since 2018 such violence has been happening in all elections but the Election Commission totally failed to uphold democracy in all polls".

"Not only Left Front but other opposition parties are also facing the same terror", added Choudhury.

Heavy violence started in Tripura since the poll nomination submission process was started. Opposition candidates are undergoing murder threats in various places. Under BJP such an incident is not new though when already 30% seats were won without contest taking help of violence.

The State Election Commission’s puppet role has paralyzed the poll environment. In Belonia Ward No-5 CPI-M candidate Bhola Das’s home was attacked in a barbaric manner. Bhola Das has taken shelter in his relative’s home. In the same ward TMC candidate Dolon Das’s father has been kidnapped allegedly by BJP. CPI-M State Secretary Jitendra Choudhury has written a letter to the Election Commission seeking a reply from him.
