AGARTALA, Nov 5 (TIWN): Terminated 10323 teachers on Friday alleged that Tripura Govt has deceived the Supreme Court with false statements about Group-C and Group-D posts saying these posts were made for the terminated teachers whereas in High Court Tripura Govt submitted an affidavit saying that such recruitments are no more possible. Addressing media Joint Movement Committee member Bijoy Krishna Saha said, “In the name of alternative livelihood arrangement, the Tripura Govt referred Group-C and Group-D posts in the affidavit submitted in Supreme Court but in the fresh affidavit, Tripura Govt informed the High Court that nobody can be given jobs in that manner. So, basically cheating was done with the 10323 teachers since the beginning”.

“The schools are in pathetic conditions now. All the schools are undergoing teachers’ shortage problems and the Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath who talked tall about developing Education infrastructure is now on the way to privatizing the system. The schools in rural areas were opened at gaps of 1 km each as per Centre’s Education policy and today the Education system is in jeopardy. By closing schools, how can the Govt proceed towards developing the Education system ?”, said Bijoy Krishna Saha.

Teacher Dalia Das said, "The Govt has forgotten its promise. To establish the Govt, 10323 teachers had a major role. We must remind the Govt about its forgotten promise to solve 10323 teachers issues after assuming power".

Teacher Ajay Debbarma said, “We asked the Dept about the resolution it made to solve our problems but so far no answer came to us. Moreover, the Govt has forgotten its own promise to save the 10323 teachers. So, we are placing a deputation to the Education Director with our long-pending demands and rights”.

10323 teachers lost their jobs as per SC’s order but BJP before the 2018 election promised the 10323 teachers to solve their uncertainty related problems in their jobs and to make them permanent or reappointing them but as the Govt could not fulfill its promise, so 10323 teachers decided to protest.

For last 20 months the teachers are jobless and 111 teachers died due to illness, suicide, heart attacks.
