UDAIPUR, December 26 (TIWN): Over the years CPI(M) is seen to observe the birth and death anniversaries of its leaders mostly those who were not at all Indians. But none can question against it as such programmes can be organized by the party as per its own strategy. But the question:- Are the leaders , who contributed a lot for social progress ever since the birth of Communist party in India, is equally remembered? today CPIM) remembers Mao Tse Tung on his birth anniversary. Almost in all party offices in the state as well as other arts of the country Mao was remembered in befitting manner. Floral tributes were shown to Mao, the founder of Communist Party in China. Interestingly 25th December is the death anniversary of late Communist leader Nripen Chakraborty. Apart from being a former Chief Minister of Tripura, Nripen Chakraborty is still regarded as one the most honest Communist leaders in India and still people of all communities regard him with great honour for his simple and humble living. But his party, for which Nripen Chakraborty did a lot seems to have forgotten him. Yesterday no programme was organized in his memory but today Mao'so birth anniversary is being observed at every corners of the state.
Chief Minister Manik Sarkar has been regarded as a political disciple of Nripen Chakraborty by many of his party colleagues. But even his disciple was not seen to utter a word in memory of the late Nripen Chakarborty. Does this mean that CPI(M) has forgotten this honest leader? Or Has the party decided make the name of Nripen Chakraborty go into oblivion?
