AGARTALA, Nov 4 (TIWN): Ahead of Tripura Municipality poll and various states’ Assembly Elections, central govt and also Tripura Govt downed fuel prices and ruling BJP Party had started massive propaganda about that but public reaction to such a down has remained dull. Talking to the petrol buyers in Agartala Durga Bari petrol pump who were buying petrol at Rs. 104, they said that such a little down can’t help them. Public have demanded the previous price of Rs. 60 to Rs. 70. A customer raised a question, if neighboring countries can provide fuel at low cost, why can India Govt not provide ?
Another customer said, “After raising Rs. 10, now the Govt has decreased Rs. 1. How can it work out ?”
“Why are we only talking about petrol, diesel prices ? All commodity prices are going higher. From onion to cooking oil, all are reeling through price hikes. So such a little down in fuel price is insignificant”, said another customer.
