AGARTALA, December 25 (TIWN): The historic 70th Janashikha Divas to be observed on December 27 across the state. The observing committee will organize the main program at Agartala Rabindra Bhawan on the very day. Beside a four day long programme will be staged across the state to mark the day.

However, as part of the campaign programme today at Agartala Colonel Chowmuhni the organizing committee of the public awareness lighted up a candle to pay condolence to the victims of the recent Assam violence, where at least more than 70 has been killed.

Remaining present during the campaign programme today Tripura MP Jitendra Chowdhury said that Tripura had already gone through such violence during the year 1988 under the rule of the joint front. Therefore every people of the state Tripura have to work in a democratic way to restrict such violence in Tripura, said Mr. Chowdhury.
