AGARTALA, Oct 28 (TIWN): The Left Front has lodged a complaint to the West Dist DM Office alleging that in various places the parties are unable to submit their nomination papers due to massive rigging attempts taken by the BJP. CPI-M leader Ratan Das stated that in Jirania, Mohanpur like areas, BJP party has activated its network and hundreds of BJP goons kept the SDM offices barricaded so that no opposition candidate can submit nominations. Das further alleged that BJP also started checking each vehicle so that any Left candidate can’t submit nomination and common men are harassed due to that. The Left Front leaders visited the DM office and submitted a complaint to the DM incharge, requesting enough security arrangement in the poll.

The opposition team alleged that many candidates are awaiting to submit their nominations but due to the undemocratic situation created by the BJP, they are unable to proceed. 

Such riggings are not new after 2018's BJP's victory in Tripura. Reports say, there was not a single poll in Tripura which was rigging free under Biplab Deb Govt.

Tripura Municipal Polls to be conducted on November 25, 2021.

 The Left Front is formed of CPI-M, CPI, RSP, Forward Block parties.
