AGARTALA, Oct 27 (TIWN): BSF troops deployed on the Indo-Bangladesh International border in the State of Tripura besides safeguarding the extreme territorial limits of the Nation are also doing relentless endeavors in containing trans-border crimes particularly smuggling of Narcotics and Contraband items by conducting Special Operations.
In one such operation on 26th Oct 2021, acting on specific intelligence input, troops of Border Out Post Kalamchera along with BSF Canine Reena (Narcotic Expert) of 150 Bn BSF, Gokulnagar with officials of Customs Agartala carried out special search Operation in Village- Uttar Kalamchera, PS- Kalamchera, Sub Div- Sonamura, Distt- Sepahijala and successfully seized 06 plastic drums containing “150 Kgs Ganja worth Rs. 22,50,000/-” which were clandestinely stocked underneath the ground.
The seized Ganja was handed over to Customs Agartala on the spot for further course of action. In another operation during the wee hours of 27th Oct 2021, acting on specific intelligence input, troops of Border Out Post Dimatoli, 130 Bn BSF Gokulnagar successfully seized 22 Kgs Ganja worth Rs. 1,10,000/-.
