Agartala, Dec 25 (TIWN): In protest of militant attack on the innocent students of Peshawar in Pakistan and massacre at Kokrajhar in the neighbouring state Assam, students of Tripura Institute of Paramedical Science (TIPS) conducted a peace rally in Agartala, here today.
On the other hand, over 400 hundred children of Shilpangan Art School today condoled over the Kokrajhar and Peshawar massacres by lighting candle lights at UK Academy ground today.
It is to be mentioned here, seven Taliban gunmen wearing explosives belts stunned the world on December 21 by storming into a military run school in Peshawar and slaughtering 148 people, including 132 students. Another nearly 121 students were wounded in the ensuing eight-hour siege of the school.
In another incident, more than 70 people were killed and at least 15 injured as Bodo rebel groups opened fire to Adivasis, including women and children at Kokrajhar in Assam.
In protest of these massacres, different peace and protest rallies are being staged by many of the organizations, educational institutions and political parties in Tripura.
