AGARTALA, Oct 22 (TIWN): Although the politicians take full credit for any Department's good works but when it’s about failure it dumps the blame on the employees. In a similar incident, to cover up the failure of maintenance works, the Power Dept decided to suspend TSECL officers for the power outage in Udaipur and South Tripura during the Durga puja season. DGM Mihir Debbarma, Manager Rajat Dey, Senior Electrician Narayan Chandra Dey are the officials facing suspension. On October 13, 3.30 AM the entire Udaipur town and parts of Gomati and South Tripura went through shutdown due to a transformer being burnt and fire caught in the sub-station.

However, this is not an isolated incident under the present Govt as from GB 79 Tilla to many other areas have been suffering from regular accidents and TSECL’s poor services are coughing clashes, mayhem, attacks by public in various power offices.

This time ahead of Municipal poll, employees are to be suspended whereas in some BJP backed media it was pre-propagated that CPI-M supporting employees are behind it. Durga puja’s power outage has damaged the Govt’s image in Udaipur and South Tripura parts as public suffering went on peak due to power cuts for days. From drinking water to mobile charge all were stopped in the suffocating summer and evening passed with candles.
