AGARTALA, December 24 (TIWN): The members of Himalaya Parivar, Tripura Pradesh today staged a rally and a 8-member delegation submitted deputation to the Tripura Governor- PB Acharya at Raj Bhavan seeking restoration of 1, 80, 000 sq. km Indian land forcefully occupied by China.
The members and delegates of Himalaya Parivar today organized a rally traversing through different roads. Later, they gathered in front of the Raj Bhavan and an 8-member delegation led by president Himalaya Parivar- Pijuh Kanti Kar placed a letter to the Governor.
In the memorandum, Himalaya Parivar mentioned that around 1, 80, 000 sq. km of Indian land are lying in China since 1962. No initiative has been made to restore the lands from China till date. The Himalaya Parivar also requested the Central Government through the Tripura Governor to take up the issue with China Government to get back the Indian lands, which are forcefully occupied by China.
The Himalaya Parivar observes China occupied Indian lands Restoration Day from November 14 to December 24 in every year across the country.
