Chaturdosh Debota Temple at Kailasahar: No implementation of Project work; Govt. Plays negative role
TIWN

AGARTALA, December 24 (TIWN): The Tripura Govt. on another project work found to be playing a negative role to bring in the tourists attraction on a major point here in Tripura.

Some 8 Km away from Tripura Kailasahar town, a Chaturdosh Debota Temple was found amidst 150 hectares of a waterbody at Khaorabari, Kailasahar. The temple reported to be built during the royal regime was found to be situated in the middle of the water body covering at least 100 meters.

During the year 2007, the then Information and Culture Affair Minister Anil Sarkar inaugurated the first mela at Kailasahar Khaorabari where the Chaturdosh Debota Temple is situated. And o the very year the central govt. had allotted a fund of Rs. 150 crore to make it a tourists place. But since then no implantation of the project work could be notified from the state govt. The state govt. failing to make it a tourist place and playing a negative role on the project funded by the central govt. refunded the amount allotted.

Leaving no stone unturned, during the year 2014 the Tourism Minister Ratan Bhowmik made a visit to the place at Kaliasahar, Khaorabari, where the Chaturdosh Debota Temple was situated during the royal regime. During his visit he urged to bring in the place as a tourist attraction.

It is to be mentioned here that recently Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his visit to Tripura called for better tourism in the North Eastern region. And taking this point of view it can be said that the state Tripura is one of those which can promote itself as a better tourist destination with its several royal regime temples and sculptures across.

It is also mentionable here that many tourists from the nation and abroad do come here in Tripura to take a flavor tourism. But on the other the Tripura Govt. had absolutely failed to implement any kind of central allotted project work for tourism here in Tripura.
