Demand for TTAADC empowerment likely to be raised in next session of Parliament

Agartala, Dec 23 (TIWN): Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh is likely to raise the TTAADC empowerment issue in the next session of Parliament, said the General Secretary of Indigenous Nationalists Party of Tripura (INPT)- Jagadish Debbarma in a press conference here today.

Besides, Debbarma said INPT does not support the demand of IPFT for separate Twipra land and the INPT would contest the forthcoming ADC election independently.

A three-member delegation of INPT comprising Bijay Kumar Hrankhwal, Jagadish Debbarma and Jagadish Debbarma went to Delhi Abhiyan and visited the Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on December 15 and demanded to pass the Empowerment to TTAADC Bill. The delegation also placed a memorandum to him with 8-point charter of demands.

Admitting the logicality of the demands, Rajnath Singh assured the delegation to take up the issue in the next session of Parliament.

The INPT delegation also demanded for direct funding to TTAADC and Kokborok language of in 8 schedules of Constituency.
