AGARTALA, Sep 28 (TIWN): A 4-feet long python was rescued from the Muhuri River near Sujit Mallick alias Ramu’s Sand Ghats on Tuesday morning in the Gangail Road area of Belonia.
Reportedly, a man named Ujjwal Datta, a resident of the same area kept a fishing net in Muhuri River near Sand Ghat last night to catch fish. Today morning while Ujjwal went to check the net he saw a python was stuck in the fish net.
It was informed to the Forest Department and on hearing news Ajit Sarkar, a official of forest Department along with other staff rushed on spot and rescued the Python. The rescued Python would be 3-4 feet high and weigh 5 kg according to the official.
The rescued python will be released in Trishna Sanctuary.
