AGARTALA, Sep 10 (TIWN): BJP is using 2 types of techniques to shut down the media in Tripura. One is to attack the media directly and another is indirectly, said TMC leader Kunal Ghosh while addressing the media in a press meet in Agartala today.

He was briefing the media after visiting the PB24 news office which was already shutdown by the BJP Govt in Tripura and many times were attacked. At the same time, on 8th September the office was set on fire by BJP members in broad daylight but even after having all evidence and visible faces of the BJP workers during the attack, nobody was arrested.

TMC spokesperson Kunal Ghosh said, "It is unfortunate that from Tripura a Govt officer called the MSO and also asked to close a channel. We have talked to the MSO and requested that the channel be restored soon. I am not taking the MSO's name but if the channel is not restored then requests will go from Kolkata also................what I saw today in the news office, I would not have believed if I did not go there personally. The level of vandalism is unbelievable. It is surprising that nobody was arrested".
