AGARTALA, December 22 (TIWN): The Supreme Court of India to hear the interlocutory application on January 9, filed by the Tripura Govt. earlier to save the terminated jobs of at least 10, 323 Graduate, Under Graduate and Post Graduate teachers. The registrar of SC of India conducted a preliminary hearing in October this year and admitted the case for further hearing. And accordingly the court conducted the second hearing on December 8 and the court allowed them to continue beyond Dec 31 and until the final disposal of the case.

The hearing of the interlocutory application filed by the state govt. will commence on December 8 with the jobs of at least 10,323 teachers still uncertain. Whereas on the other hand, the state govt. has been grappling hard enough to save all the 10, 323 Graduate, Under Graduate and Post Graduate terminated teachers. According to the highly placed source, if the state govt. fails to save the 10, 323 teachers on December 8, than most of the disgruntled teachers among 10, 323 will lodge a complaint against Manik Sarkar’s govt.

Earlier talking to the media persons here at the secretariat Education Minister Tapan Chakroborty said that the state govt. is very hopeful in regard of the interlocutory application that will lead to positive outcomes.

He also said that when the state govt. is trying hard enough to save all the terminated teachers, on the other the there is no way of forlorn for those teachers.

However, but it is to be mentioned here that the Supreme Court of India in the year 2009, issued a notification that in case of appointment of teachers new education policy should be followed. As per the notification the central govt. had instructed the state govt. to take the policy in action.

But as usual the state govt. turned a deaf ear to this to accommodate CPI (M) party cadres. Therefore to mention here, had Manik Sarkar;s govt. followed the High Court’s May 7 order and declare a new recruitment policy by July 31 2014, followed by a new recruitment drive to fill up these 10, 323 positions, then it would have save the life of thousands teachers today.
