AGARTALA, Dec 22 (TIWN): One after another Department of State’s leftist regime is coming under the black mark of corruption, embezzlements. And the party and its leaders of state are continuously trying to safeguard corruptions in party at the national level, also from the attacks of the opposition. But once again the report of CAG for 2012-2013 fiscal unearthed another saga of embezzlement in state. And this time it’s in the department under the direct control of the CM.In their report, CAG clearly showed huge differences in the closing balance of Cash Book and Bank Account in different wings of Home (Police) department. It amounted into an astonishing sum of Rs. 8 crore 93 lakhs (8, 93, 46,930 )rupees misappropriation of Govt funds.A total of 16 units of Home (Police) came under CAG scanner, in which 13 units failed to keep transparency in their accounts. In total 7, 01, 95,510 rupees were shown as closing balance according to Cash Book for the year 2012-2013. But for the same period, the closing balance as per Bank statement was Rs, 15, 95, 42,440 rupees. Each unit showed a huge difference in the closing balance of Cash Books and Bank Statements.

Only Commandant 7th Battalion TSR showed zero closing balance in both the cash book and bank statement. And Commandants of 2nd and 5th Battalion TSR showed no difference in the closing balances. SP (Procurement) resulted highest difference of  Rs. 5.19 crores (5, 19, 11,353) rupees and Director, Forensic Science Laboratory showed minimum difference of 4639 rupees. Still no action is initiated from the Government to unearth the actual reason behind these huge differences. Many are of the view that, all those differences are simply due to embezzlement. But who would unearth the truth ?
