AGARTALA, December 21 (TIWN): Alleging that the state govt. has failed to take any necessary steps against the chit fund companies of the state, the opposition leader Sudip Roy Barman said that till today Chief Minister Manik Sarkar and his Ministers had helped the chit fund companies here in Tripura. Not only that in exchange of donations to party fund, no legal action against the companies which has looted the money of poor people of state at large. Rather the CPI (M) and its left front govt. is on a race to safeguard the chit fund companies.Talking to the media persons yesterday at Congress Bhawan, opposition leader Sudip Roy Barman highlighted a letter that the Chairman and the Managing Director of Waris Group of Companies Shane Ahmed Warsi written to Chief Minister Manik Sarkar and the then Chief Secretary. In the very letter Ahmed Warsi the Chairman cum MD seeks permission for selling the properties through a receiver appointed by the Ld. Court. The letter was placed on November 6, 2014, where the chairman cum MD of Waris Chit Fund Company confessed that his company has collected a huge amount of money from the open market through several policies and he have invested more than the collected amount to several properties which are in the name of his company and which has a total valuation nearly approx about Rs. 75 Crores.
Ahmed Warsi the Chairman cum MD of Waris chit fund companies had sought a permission to sell his assets as he was suffering from a tremendous mental pressure that his creditors were giving him to return back the deposited money. But till today the state govt. has not taken any necessary steps on this and has been showing negligence in returning the creditors money, alleged Sudip Barman.
Sudip also alleged that earlier Ahmed Warsi the Chairman cum MD of Waris chit fund companies was arrested but as he was a close aide of another left front member Mr. Ahmed was released from the jail. And now Chief Minister Manik Sarkar and his left front govt. are on a race to safeguard Waris and its letter, alleged Sudip.
However, later speaking to the reporters here at the congress bhawan yesday Sudip Roy Barman said that the Tripura Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) to frame a new infrastructure very soon through a retired District Judge in order to take a stock of the situation of the deprived depositors.
It is to be mentioned here that Chief Minister Manik Sarkar’s presence at every chit fund company’s programme her in Tripura and that even along with the Company proprietor makes it crystal clear that the poor people of the state had been taken through a wrong path by the left front govt. to deposit money at the chit fund companies like Rose Valley, Waris and Saradha. But as it is a matter of the poor people of the state who has not yet received the maturity amount, will they be saved under the raaj of left front govt.?
