AGARTALA, Aug 25 (TIWN): Normal lives were seen heavily disrupted due to water logging problems after few splashes of rain under Belonia Municipal Council.

Due to the poor drainage system many houses have submerged after few splashes of rain in Belonia. Many believe such water logging has occurred for the first time under the Municipal area, and blaming water lodged due to poor drainage system.

With angst a local claimed despite informing repeatedly many times to the Municipal Council to build a new drainage system in Ward-3, the concerned department took no initiative to build a drainage system in the area.

Due to waterlog some people in East Mirzapur area took shelter in Mirzapur School as refugees due to flooding in their houses and many lost their belongings after water entering people’s houses

However, the SDM instructed the municipal workers to make arrangements for immediate drainage and visited the submerged area and spoke to the affected families.
