AGARTALA / NEW DELHI, Aug 21 (TIWN): "Why should I be blamed for Congress's failure and infighting, when I was trying my best to unit the Party ?", a shocking remark came from Tripura Congress President Pijush Biswas today after he surprised all by resigning from his State President Post. In the first phase of interview, Pijush Biswas kept the matter secret and denied to comment anything in front of the media about the root-cause of his resignation. However, later after being repeatedly requested by journalists and increasing rumours that Pijush Biswas might join another Party, he finally said, "The reason why former President of Congress Pradyot Manikya had resigned, there is no difference in the root cause in my case too".

"There is no credit of CPI-M being in power for 27 years. CPI-M had been in power just because of Congress's infighting and our leaders' personal high ambitions. Unless Congress leaders can quit their personal lusts, nobody can save Congress. I tried to unite the party but I could not because, nobody was following the discipline of the party and everyone was doing as per wishes...........but I wanted everyone should follow the instructions and maintain discipline", Biswas told media.

It was understood that Pijush Biswas was blamed for Congress members' joining in other parties which probably has hurt him and due to this, he decided to quit politics. 

In last 2 years, Pijush Biswas many times alleged about lack of discipline in the party.

Pijush Biswas further rubbished all rumours about his joining in any other party.  

In the last two years, two State Presidents of Tripura Congress have resigned. First President was Pradyot Manikya to resign from the party and now in a major setback for the Congress, Pijush Biswas has also resigned who was also a legal cell asset for the party and if he joins any party, for being an learned advocate he will be an asset for it. Recently he won a legal battle against BJP led Tripura Govt and got bails for I-PAC team members   Pijush Biswas today said, for now he is taking retirement from the party and to focus on his career in Law.
