AGARTALA, Aug 18(TIWN): Under the so called model State of BJP, allegations of water scarcity have been raising from various parts of state. Local on Wednesday have blocked road against Scarcity of Drinking water in Kumarghat.

Reportedly, above 250 families are residing in the Darchai area, Kumarghat who has been suffering from drinking water crisis for a long time. Several times it was reported to the local authority and higher authorities but the water crisis issue was not fixed.

With heavy resentments, Locals blocked the Darchai Road with demand of drinking water. Placing pots and buckets on the road the agitators including women and children blocked the road for several hours demanding regular water supply.

As per locals' allegations, there were water connections earlier in the area but now they all are disconnected which is causing difficulties for the locals to survive in the area. Locals demanded the water pipeline should be immediately repaired like before it was.

Due to the blockade, a lot of vehicles got stuck on both sides of the road. Later, the Police team after receiving information rushed to the agitation spot and removed the blockade.
