AGARTALA, Aug 17 (TIWN): After statewide massive protests unitedly were held by Tripura Board examination students, TBSE President Bhabotosh Saha has announced that in Class 12 and Madhyamik almost all have been passed out followed by the review. However, with very little numbers of students who did not sit in any examination, they could not be passed out but that number of failed students would be minimum. Talking to the media, the TBSE President also accepted the impact of students' protest behind the big decision.

The protest was initiated by Congress's student wing NSUI leader Samrat Roy and along with many students he was also injured during the protest and tussle with Tripura police.

The protest escalated statewide and since August 3rd the movement took a bigger shape.

TBSE President Bhabotosh Saha further accepted that in the marking system some irrelevancy was witnessed during review. Earlier in Madhyamik the passing rate was 80% and now it is above 99%.

"Allegation raised that other Boards have given more marks to the students but Tripura Board has given less marks. So, we decided to review and after that maximum students have been passed. Basically, no examination was held this year and thus chaos erupted. We have passed as many as possible", Bhabotosh Saha said.

The TBSE President also added that any student who is unsatisfied with his/ her mark in any subject may appeal for re-examination. But in that case, the last examination will be recorded as the final score in that subject.
