AGARTALA, Aug 12 (TIWN): Amid gaining popularity of TMC in Tripura, consistent arrests of TMC activists with various charges continue in politically motivated cases.

Amal Bhowmik, who is an active worker of TMC, had been arrested in dark hours late last night. Amal’s wife said, “The Police without any women Police entered in her room forcefully. Despite her repeated claims that no man is there inside her room, Amal was arrested illegally, as the Police could not show any legal document behind the arrest reason”.

The Police primarily told Amal’s family that they came from AD Nagar PS. Later under Amal’s family’s pressure the Police admitted that they came from Ambassa PS. During the arrest the Police said, ‘If Amal refuses to go with Police then later he will face harassment’.

The Police also lodged an FIR against AITC, General Secretary Abhishek Banejee, Debangshu Bhattacharjee, Jaya Datta, Sudip Raha, Dola Sen, Kunal Ghosh and many other TMC leaders with fabricated charges.

 Surajit Saha alias Ripon, the driver of Scorpio vehicle, who took Debangshu Bhattacharjjee was also arrested.

Both Amal Bhowmik, Surajit Sutradhar will be in Jail custody for 5 days.
