AGARTALA, Aug 11 (TIWN): Reacting on the FIR registration against All India Trinamool General Secretary Anhishek Banerjee and 4 more Trinamool leaders, Trinamool MP Dola Sen said, "When a person understands he's about to loose his power and position, this is what he does. Same happened with Biplab Deb. He has become so scared that after appointing goons to attack us, now he ordered police to file case against us. It's nothing but loosing his thinking capability by seeing his end. Such FIRs can not stop us from reaching our goal. The history of World is enough to prove that no fascist power could sustain for long. We are ready to fight legally and we have faith on the Judiciary system of India."

The FIR has been filed based on a suo moto complaint by Inspector Manoranjan Debbarma, officer-in-charge of Khowai police station for misbehaving with Additional Superintendent of Police (SP) and sub-divisional police officer (SDPO) Khowai and preventing them from discharging their duty. Although the police did not take any action against the BJP hooligans who have attacked on the Trinamool student leaders and even injured three TSR Jawans on Saturday.

At least 14 leaders and workers of TMC were arrested by Khowai police on Sunday, including those injured in several attacks by BJP goons the day before, for "flouting COVID-19 norms". Soon after, the National General secretary of Trinamool Abhishek Banerjee along with other leaders visited Tripura to get the 14 arrested persons released.

While reacting to the FIR, Malay Ghatak, West Bengal Law Minister said that police are under the pressure of the ruling BJP have falsely lodged the FIR. He also added that all allegations are baseless as the entire incident took place in front of large number of media persons.
