It is learned that West Agartala Women Police had a secret information that the accused identified as Prasenjit Das was coming to Agartala by air from Bangalore with the minor girl. Based on that information police arrested him and brought him to police station along with the victim. After conducting Covid test, the minor girl tested positive and thus she was sent to Covid care center.

There was a kidnapping case against the accused earlier but today the police of West Agartala Women's Police Station registered a case of rape with the abduction case. Nilima Ghosh, chairperson of the Child Protection Commission, along with the family of the minor girl rushed to the police station after receiving the news. 

The accused will be produced before Court tomorrow, said police.
