AGARTALA, Aug 8 (TIWN): Amid BJP's 'Gunda Raaj' in Tripura, the Tripura police's role left everyone in shock. In the name of giving security to the injured Trinamool members, the Khowai police arrested them on Sunday morning, keeping them in Police Station whole night without food and proper medical care. Whereas the attackers are roaming free out side the Khowai police station, the Khowai police arrested injured TMC activists under non-bailable sections.

On Sunday morning Trinamool National general secretary Abhishek Banerjee along with MP Dola Sen, State Minister Bratyo Basu, and Kunal Ghosh rushed to Tripura to free the arrested Trinamool members. When Banerjee asked the Officer Incharge of Khowai police station to show the FIR, he refused. “Show us the FIR? Show us the complaint? I will sit here. I know you have pressure on you but will sit here till you free them, I can sit here five days. You have Ashok Sthambha on your shoulder, not lotus," Abhishek Banerjee said.

While entering to Khowai PS, Banerjee and the whole Trinamool team had to face 'Go back' slogans from BJP activists who gheraoed the station premises since morning. However, no arrests of them had been made by police as usual.

The lawlessness of Tripura yet again captured the National attention. Whereas everyone from opposition leaders to National figures criticising the "misrule" of Tripura's BJP Govt, CM Biplab Deb remained  completely silent on the recently erupted unrest in the State.
