AGARTALA, August 3 (TIWN): Fraudster who was impersonated as Police personnel, allegedly extorted money from common people by blackmailing and threatening them about filing fabricated cases. On getting such an information, Police of AD Nagar PS today detained the accused from Drop Gate area, Agartala.

The accused person has been identified as Manindra Debbarma. Talking to media, local two youths claimed that on 13^th July, the accused, Manindra extorted money from two youths by filing fabricated NDPS cases against them and almost Rs 66,000 and expensive Mobile Phone took from them.

The fake Police official took gold earrings and many expensive items from many people in drop gate area in the name of filing fabricated cases lodging and blackmailing them.

According to the victim youth, several people are involved in this Fraud racket and looting people.

Reportedly, locals caught the accused red-handed and handed him over to the AD Nagar PS, Police. But after he was brought to AD Nagar PS nothing has been reported from the police so far.
