AGARTALA, December 19 (TIWN): The newly developed Agartala Swami Vivekananda Stadium (SVS) stands in bad shape with its grass uprooted at large and making the ground looks old aged. Whereas, silent role of the concerned administration comes under lime light.

During the year 2013 on the month of December Tripura Chief Minister Manik Sarkar inaugurated the so called newly developed and multi- purpose Swami Vivekananda Stadium (SVS) to the state. And it has been profiled as international status playground. The stadium, one the few highly modernized stadiums that has hosted many political rally as well has now turned into a nastiest condition with its grasses been uprooted at large.

Earlier Astabal ground renamed as Swami Vivekananda ground was erected with a newly modernized gallery all around and international standard matching field area of 70x105 meters, with the grasses brought from abroad spending handsome capital by the state govt. But, since after the ground with its costly grasses in it takes a bad shape and has become hard enough for the football players especially to play any tournament here in the field.

Though of course, recently a tournament is running on field despite its bad condition.  And on the other the state govt. as well as the concerned administration has been playing a role of a silent spectator.

It is to be mentioned here that earlier after the launching of the modernized stadium, the state govt. had urged the people of the state to keep the ground clean and clear and keep it healthy enough for the players. But, today leaving no stone unturned the state govt. has been playing a role of a silent spectator when the grasses brought from outside had already been uprooted giving a bad shape to the ground.

It is also mentionable that one of the prime stadium of the state, Agartala MBB stadium where the cricketers from outside come to play tournaments, had also taken a bad shape as the gallery all around has been broken almost and has been covered with weeds all around the stadium. The stadium remained in bad condition due to lack of  proper maintenance and has become incapable to carry maximum spectators in its broken gallery.

Maharaja Bir Bikram College Stadium, is a multi-use stadium. It is currently used mostly for cricket matches. The stadium was built in 1998. The stadium is named after former king of Tripura Maharaja Bir Bikram Manikya Bahadur. The ground is located Maharaja Bir Bikram College campus. The MBB Cricket Stadium lies just opposite to the college's main block and is almost spread throughout the area.
