AGARTALA, July 28 (TIWN): Centering I-PAC Team's house-arrest, All India Trinamool Congress leaders arrived in Tripura in a 3-day-visit.

Tomorrow Trinamool General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee may come, said the Trinamool leaders.

Biplab Deb Govt had detained Prashant Kishor's I-PAC team in Agartala Woodland Hotel which has now turned into a national issue. Today two Bengal Ministers and an MP have reached Tripura. 

While addressing the media, West Bengal Minister Bratya Basu hinted that Abhishek Banerjee might come to Tripura soon.

"It is quite surprising that even after having Covid negative reports in hands, how could the youths be harassed like this ? FIRs lodged against them, legal notices have been served. By doing this Govt of Tripura has expressed its trauma, panic and fear on Mamata Banerjee", said Bratya Basu.

"Political strategists will go to various states................what's so wrong with this ? Just because it is Prashant Kishor's team, they are under house arrest. What BJP Govt has done here, it's horrible.........such dictatorships can not be tolerated", said Basu to the media at Agartala Press Club.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee also condemned what she said was the "house arrest" of 23 employees of poll strategist Prashant Kishor's organisation I-PAC in Tripura.

Condemning Biplab Deb Govt led "House Arrest" of I-PAC team, Trinamool MP Ritabrata Banerjee has recalled how Biplab Deb held empty road rallies in West Bengal before Bengal Poll. He picked the matter of road-show programme of Biplab Deb to signify that Trinamool led West Bengal Govt is not undemocratic to stop opposition voices and allowed BJP to organize prorammes wherever, whenever they wanted. MP Ritabrata Banerjee addressing in Agartala Press Club said, "In Democracy, the Opposition voice is important. It upholds the Democracy but the way BJP has suppressed the democracy since Lenin's statue bulldozing in this state Tripura, it is no way remained a Democracy at all. The whole nation under Narendra Modi is going through a suffocating situation and democracy is murdered everyday".

Addressing media,  Bengal Law Minister Moloy Ghatak said, "We are responsible citizens. Each of us has RT-PCR negative test reports. We are double vaccinated !! Same were the I-PAC team members but how could the Govt detain the youths even after they had shown their Covid negative test reports ? There are various hotels in Agartala. Is the Govt conducting Covid tests of all passengers staying in those hotels ?"
