Agartala, Dec 19 (TIWN): Representatives of Tripura Farm Sramik Union (TFSU) today submitted a deputation to the Finance Minister Bhanulal Saha highlighting different issues of labourers engaged in several farms under Animal Resource Development Department (ARDD) and Agriculture Department. The delegates also placed a latter with 5-point charter of demands at Civil Secretariat.
The 5-point charter demands of TFSU are; to regularize the workers and to provide pay scale to the Pl workers engaged in different farms, to provide job immediately to a family member in case of die-in-harness, to provide pension to the workers on an equal average, to appoint own stuff in the colleges under Animal Resource Development Department (ARDD) and Agriculture Department and to fulfill the vacant posts of retired workers based on necessity.
During the deputation, general secretary of TFSU- Kanu Ghosh, Jawharlal Debnath, Priyalal Debnath, Debendra Debbarma, Subash Sarkar, Kumud Behari Ddebnath, Sunil Debnath and Benu Lal Saha were remained present.
Admitting the logicality of the demands, Minister Bhanulal Saha assured to take necessary steps during the deputation.
Over 60 small-medium farms are now operational under Animal Resource Development Department (ARDD) and Agriculture Department in the state. Almost all the farms are suffering from shortage of workers, said a member of TFSU today.
