Reportedly, on Saturday morning the incident took place on the Assam-Agartala National Highway adjacent to the Bankumari temple under Teliamura police station. The incident took place when a six-wheeled gas tanker numbered TRO1AG-1895 was coming to Agartala. A Lorry with registration number WB65o-0820 was coming from the opposite direction. The two vehicles collided head-on as they approached the area adjacent to the Bankumari temple. The driver of the gas tanker Mridul Das sustained critical injuries in this accident. 

 

Police and fire brigade rushed to the spot after receiving the news of the accident. Injured Mridul Das was brought to Teliamura Sub-Divisional Hospital by fire brigade. The doctor referred him to Agartala GB Hospital as his condition was deteriorating.

 

Police has also taken a case on this matter and trying to catch the absconding lorry driver.
