66 years old woman's dead body found in pond water at Kumarghat

AGARTALA, July 23 (TIWN): On a shocking note, dead body of an old woman of sixty-six was rescued from the water of the pond on Friday. The name of the deceased is Basanti Nama. The incident took place at Ananda Palli in Kumarghat on Friday.
It is learned that the owner of the house became suspicious when he saw something floating in the pond of Nikunj Nama in Anandapalli on Friday morning. He went ahead and saw a human body floating in the water. Later it came out that, the deceased Basanti Nama, mother of Haradhan Nama, a resident of the area, had been missing since Thursday. Seeing the floating body, they informed the house of the missing woman. The family members rushed to the spot and identified the body.
They also informed the Kumarghat police and fire brigade. Upon receiving the news, the fire brigade came and recovered the body and took it to Kumarghat Sub-Divisional Hospital. The doctor declared the woman dead. Meanwhile, the deceased's son said that she used to live alone at home. No one knew when she left home.
Kumarghat police reached the spot after receiving the news. A case has been filed in the Kumarghat police station on this matter and the police are investigating the incident.
