AGARTALA, July 16 (TIWN): Tripura Congress on Friday had planned to stage a protest against fuel price hikes but even though the activists could stand for protest, police arrested them, putting them in a bus. This incident has erupted massive resentment among the agitators who could not talk to the media. The party was protested within limited numbers of people along with maintaining social distance. After being arrested, the activists were taken to AD Nagar Police ground. While being arrested, the Congress agitators raised slogans against Petrol, Diesel, Cooking gas price hikes. Anti-Modi slogans echoed as the arrested agitators were chanting Hai Hai Modi from the police bus. The protest was staged as in Tripura petrol price has already crossed a hundred and diesel is also nearing to hit a century.
Amid the ongoing viral video from South Tripura where BJP Yuva Morcha leader's marriage function turned Corona-Hub with a parade of thousand people, police dedicatedly continued their job of arresting the opposition activists wherever they are trying to organize protest. Everyday BJP's national leaders are arriving, making gatherings, violating curfew, not even wearing masks but in those spots police are seen giving security. There are consistent allegations from oppositions and even common men's groups like 10323 teachers that they can not organize protests but BJP's programmes, rallies continue. Even Law Minister Ratan Lal Nath has faced extreme criticism for holding over five thousand people's gatherings in his constituency Mohanpur.
