AGARTALA, July 13 (TIWN): Opposition Congress's youth cell on Tuesday placed deputation to West Agartala PS OC over Police and Administration's Double-Role in Covid Law Implementation. Raising questions over police's silence on BJP leaders' continuous law breaking, the Youth Congress met West Agartala Police Station OC-Jayanta Karmakar and complained against Police's incapability to take action on the law violators in BJP's programme. After meeting the cop, the Youth Congress stated, "Curfew was imposed for the welfare of the people. But when common men are subjected to pay hefty amounts as penalty for not wearing masks, in contrast to the ruling BJP leaders, activists are violating laws everyday. BJP is organizing programmes daily but when Congress tries to hold a single programme by maintaining Covid protocols, Police becomes much more active. Our demand, if Police and the Administration can not take neutral action against all law violators including BJP then Authority must stop taking fines from the common men".

The Youth Congress leaders further mentioned about Law Minister Ratan Lal Nath's recently held gathering in Mohanpur where police instead of taking action, gave support to the programme organizers.

The party members further slammed State Govt over Delta+ variant data error saying, "Double Engine Govt is giving Double Statements which differ in Centre and in the State".
