AGARTALA, July 7 (TIWN): 582 dry cannabis were seized by Police based on secret information in Boxnagar South Kalamchoura Madhyapara area.
Acting on a tip off, Police 64th Battalion BSF Jawans held a raid at Manik Debnath's house in South Kalamchaura Madhyapara area, under Kalamchaura PS and Malin Sarkar’s house. After 5 long hours of search operation, a total 440 kg dry cannabis was recovered from Manik Debnath’s house and 142 dry cannabis recovered from Malin Sarkar’s house. It is known that the cannabis was kept under the ground.
The market value of the seized huge dry cannabis is estimated around Rs 50 lakhs. However, Police has registered a case against the two accused and in this connection Police arrested Manik Debnath and the other accused escaped from the spot.
