AGARTALA, July 7 (TIWN): State Govt is totally silent over the loan burdens on the terminated 10323 teachers even though it's not possible for the terminated teachers to clear the loans now. Heavy loan burden on 10323 teachers amid jobless conditions increasing tension in the families. Moreover, as 10323 teachers are unable to pay off the loans and interests, the Guarantors are now facing troubles as Banks are deducting money from their accounts. The 10323 teachers on June 3rd met the Chairman of Tripura Gramin Bank, Abhoynagar branch requesting the Bank's authority to stop pressuring the loan takers.
Talking to the media, 10323 teacher, JMC member Bijoy Krishna Saha said, "10323 teachers are jobless for 16 months. A Govt employee has no other option than taking loan for their house construction and other development. We are getting information that Banks are slashing money from guarantors accounts but our question is, before the guarantor, DDO signs for the loan. Why don't the Banks cut money from the Govt Dept ? Before the guarantor signs, DDO's sign is there and so Banks must cut money from the DDOs".
"After DDOs certification, guarantors can sign and if DDOs sign is there, why are monkeys not being cut from DDOs ? Why are the Govt employees who helped the 10323 teachers now facing troubles ? The Gramin Bank is in the intrigue against 10323 teachers and if any other teacher commits suicide due to loan burden, then this Gramin Bank will be responsible for that", said Bijoy Krishna Saha.
