AGARTALA, July 5 (TIWN): Amid the COVID 19 crisis situation, the government is cutting public pockets by taxing petrol and other necessary commodities, which has become heavy on common people.

Due to record breaking petrol prices in Tripura, the public are facing difficulties in this crisis situation. On one side amid this COVID-19 situation poverty hits the state people due to lack of source of income and on the other side govt remains busy in cutting public pockets by increasing prices of necessary items. However, the government has remained silent while the opposition parties in the state wanted to know about the skyrocketing price of crude oil in comparison to international market price. Not only that, the increasing price of petrol and diesel has caused problems to the drivers as well as the daily commuters as the drivers have increased the fares, which has created disputes between the passengers and the drivers.

However, a rider today, who came to fill petrol in his bike near Durgabari petrol pump, sarcastically said before media that it would be better if the price of petrol goes up higher. Also the other vehicle drivers who came to fill petrol vehicles showed huge resentment and slammed the government. The continuous price hike has made the situation difficult amid this ongoing crisis situation for common people.
