UDAIPUR, July 5 (TIWN): Twenty-eight cleaning staff staged a sit-in demonstration in front of the Gomati District Hospital demanding arrears salary and cleaning equipment, in Udaipur.
28 cleaning staff were hired for providing service at Gomati District Hospital but it is alleged that the staff have not been receiving their salaries since the last 4 months. Centering the 4 months pending salaries of 28 cleaning staff, working in the Hospital intermittent their duty and went on strike at hospital premises on Monday. Moreover it was alleged they are not being given any kind of protection kit and also shortage of cleaning equipment reported in the hospital. For which it is being difficult to clean the hospital and the hospital becomes dirty. As a result, the condition of different wards of the hospital has become deplorable and instead of recovering, the patients are more likely getting sick at the Gomati District Hospital.
However, the medical superintendent in charge of the hospital has spoken to the contractor, Mithun Roy who had appointed the cleaning staff to resolve these issues, but the contractor did not respond to MS to resolve the issue. The cleaning staff said before media that they will not remove their blockade until their pending salaries are not given.
