AGARTALA, July 1(TIWN): Increasing crimes and skyrocketing prices of petrol, diesel and necessary commodities have become heavy on the state's common public, to curb the increasing crimes and to reduce the prices of necessary items SUCI (C) placed a memorandum to DM with 10 Points demands.
The people of the state are facing multifaceted problems during the second wave of the current Corona situation. On the one hand, the malaria disease has increased in different parts of the state and due to lack of required number of doctors, nurses and medical staff in the state hospitals, patients are not getting proper medical services. On the other hand, the prices of petrol, diesel and other daily necessities are skyrocketing every day. The government has taken no positive role in controlling commodity prices. Murder, rape, drug trafficking, theft and robbery are on the rise in the state every day. Attacks are organised on the protesters including journalists. A delegation led by the party's state secretary, Arun Bhowmik handed over a memorandum on 10 points demand to the District magistrate.
The demands mentioned in the memorandum are-1) To improve the medical services in all the government hospitals in the state, the required number of doctor’s nurses and other health staff should be appointed.
2) Medical services including eradication of malaria should be improved and expanded in remote areas.
3) All citizens should be vaccinated in this ongoing Covid situation.
4) Patients in Home Quarantine should be provided with appropriate medical care and accommodation.
5) Appropriate steps should be taken to reduce the prices of all daily necessities including edible oil, pulses, potatoes, onions.
6) The price of petrol and diesel should be controlled by reducing the tax levied by the state government.
7) New electricity connections should be improved including provision of all types of services.
8) During the Corona Epidemic, a monthly relief of Rs. 7,000 /- should be given to unemployed poor people including small traders, construction workers and day labourers.
9) The state government should take strong step to stop the spread of illicit business including theft, robbery and rape cases.
10) To ensure security of life for all people including journalists, leaders and activists of opposition parties.
