Protest held against Brutal Attack on MLA Sudhan Das

AGARTALA, June 28 (TIWN): BJP miscreants held brutal attack on MLA Sudhan Das at Rajngar Constituency on 27th June. By demanding arrest CPIM leaders held protest program at Belonia in front of Jagannathbari Temple.

Protests are taking place across the state demanding action against perpetrators who attacked MLA Sudhan Das on 27 June. On Monday CPIM workers organised a protest rally but the party leaders and activists were stopped by police in front of Jagannathbari Temple Belonia. In front of Jagannathbari Temple CPIM activists continued their program. CPIM Belonia sub-divisional secretary, Tapas Datta said that on five-point demands protest program is going on nationwide but yesterday during the protest programme on five-points demand in Rajnagar area, BJP-affiliated miscreants attacked MLA Sudhan Das, Rajnagar regional secretary Bhajan Das and other party leaders.

CPIM Belonia sub-divisional secretary Tapas Datta strongly condemned the incident and demanded the arrest of the culprits.

During the program he said “the BJP is isolated today, people are raising voices and protesting against the anti-people policy of BJP. But miscreants have resorted to stifling the protests by holding attacks as more and more public are protesting. The leftists are with the common people and will continue the protest movement. The police are incapable of taking proper action against miscreants for higher level orders. We must continue our struggle to strengthen the protest movement and to protect democracy”

Besides, CPIM district committee member Basu Deb Majumder, party state committee member Dipankar Sen, Belonia subdivision committee secretary Ashish Datta, Babul Debnath and other leaders joined the program.
