AGARTALA, June 28 (TIWN): Increasing crimes and skyrocketing prices of petrol, diesel and necessary commodities have become heavy on state’s common public, to curb the increasing crimes and to reduce the prices of necessary items, SUCI demonstrated protest program in front of City Center, Agartala.

An unbearable catastrophe has befallen on common life during the second wave of Covid pandemic.  On the one hand, the malaria disease has increased in different parts of the state and due to lack of required number of doctors, nurses and medical staff in the state hospitals, patients are not getting proper medical services.

The way vaccination campaign is going on it is suspected not everyone will be vaccinated before the third wave.  Vaccination is being manipulated due to the negligence of the health department. Many private employees are getting unemployed, also migrant workers, day laborers and small traders are going through workless and income less situation.

On the other hand, the prices of petrol, diesel and other daily necessities are skyrocketing every day.  The government has taken no positive role in controlling commodity prices. Murder, rape, drug trafficking, theft and robbery are on the rise in the state every day.

Attacks are organised on the protesters including journalists. Losing hope in the police administration, some people are taking the law into their own hands. In this situation the SUCI (C) party organized a demonstration in front of the city center of Agartala on Monday.

SUCI demanded-1)The Central and State Governments have to reduce taxes on petrol, diesel and cooking gas, 2)The pandemic situation has to be dealt with by collecting more money from the corporate.  3) Appropriate steps should be taken to reduce the price of daily commodities. 4) Every homeless family has to pay a monthly Rs. 7,000 / -.  5) The life securities of all citizens must be ensured.  6) All the people should be vaccinated before the third wave Covid. 7) To improve the medical services of the state, and doctors, nurses and health workers should be appointed.  Arun Bhowmik, secretary of the party's state organizing committee spoke before media and he called the state's public to come forward in the organized movement with these demands.
