AGARTALA, June 24 (TIWN): Another Graduate teacher, Pradip Debnath, 51 years old of Bishalgarh died today at Private hospital in Kolkata while undergoing treatment.
He was a teacher of East Gokul Nagar 12th class school. Over the rising death toll JMC member, Kamal Deb Said, the teachers are jobless since last 15 months and are facing severe crisis without salaries. Some of the teachers committed suicide over debt burden. But amid this pandemic situation the teachers did not get any financial assistance and donations from state government. Not only that, few teachers are unable to buy baby food for their children and to buy medicines for their old parents. Due to the financial crisis many teachers with several diseases are suffering at home without treatment. JMC asked, after how many deaths the state government will wake up from slumber?
One after another deaths of teachers in a row and silent role of state government JMC strongly condemned. However, out of angst JMC member said, it’s better to die on road rather than dying out of hunger and poverty. In this COVID-19 pandemic terminated teacher’s jobless situation has made difficult to run their family.
